Ballet Deviare is a nonprofit 501(c)3 organization. The company has mounted numerous successful full-scale stage productions and has also been covered by national and international media. Ballet Deviare is best known for its innovative and cutting edge repertoire and is recognized for its fusion of contemporary ballet and extreme music.

Mission Statement

Producing thought provoking and original works which illustrate the human condition... Ballet Deviare was founded in 2003 and is located in New York City. Unbound by restrictive standards of tradition, Ballet Deviare was created and founded by Laura Kowalewski (Co-Director and Choreographer) and Andrew Carpenter (Co-Director) with the intention of broadening the scope of dance, while providing audiences with original choreographic works.
